Ms. Yazolino’s recent stage and concert performances include Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas (First Witch, 2009), Handel’s Alcina (Oberto, 2009), de Falla’s El retablo de Maese Pedro (El Trujamán, 2009) and the soprano soloist of the Bach mass in B-minor (2008). She made her opera debut at San José State University under the direction of Michel Singher and Daniel Helfgot in Robert Ward’s Roman Fever (Alida Slade, 2007). Ms. Yazolino has performed numerous scenes and partial roles from operas including The Rake’s Progress (Anne Trulove), Die Fledermaus (Adele), Tamerlano (Asteria), Gianni Schicchi (Nella), Idomeneo (Ilia), Semele (Semele), Rigoletto (Gilda), and Hänsel und Gretel (The Sandman). Ms. Yazolino is an active recitalist and regularly performs both piano/vocal music and chamber ensemble music. She is an advocate and performer of contemporary concert music, and has commissioned and premiered two new works: “Six Shelley Songs” and “I taste a liquor never brewed” by Jason Thorpe Buchanan.

Ms. Yazolino has been the recipient of various awards and scholarships. In 2009, she received scholarships from both the Aspen Music Festival and School, and from Mu Phi Epsilon for summer study. Ms. Yazolino has also received two consecutive invitations (2007 and 2008) to participate in the Honor’s Concert of the Grandin Festival in Cincinnati, OH. She received second place in the San Jose Music Study Club’s Young Artist Competition (2007), was winner of the SJSU Concerto Competition (2006), and was the recipient of the Mu Phi Epsilon (Phi Mu Chapter) Alumni Scholarship (2004). Ms. Yazolino was the president of the Phi Mu student chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon for two years from 2004-2006, and played an important role in re-establishing the chapter in the fall of 2003 after more than a decade of non-activity.

Ms. Yazolino has been involved in numerous programs and educational institutes. In 2009, she attended Aspen Music Festival and School. Previously, Ms. Yazolino participated in MusicX new music festival (2008) and The Grandin Festival at CCM (2007, 2008). She also attended OperaWorks (2007) and the Tyrolean Opera Program (2006). Ms. Yazolino spent two months studying German at the Goethe Institut in Dresden and Munich, Germany (2005, 2006).

Ms. Yazolino finished her Master’s Degree in voice at the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati in the spring of 2009. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance from San José State University in 2007.
